Cosmic Axis
Jingshan & Forbidden City
Cosmic order, imperial space, and the architecture of legitimacy
This is my flagship walk: a carefully structured encounter with the imperial mind of Beijing.
We begin above the city, where the old capital opens into a panoramic field. The logic of the central axis comes into view. From there, we descend into the imperial core of the Forbidden City. As we move through its halls, our walk opens onto questions of cosmic imagination, political symbolism, architecture, and art.
It is designed for guests who want to understand how power took spatial form, and how Beijing’s imperial center was meant to be seen, entered, and experienced.
By the end, the palace no longer feels like a monument from a history book.
